We’d like to take a moment to say thank-you to our clients, families, friends and team here at Assante Hydrostone.  2020 was an unprecedented year and we are excited to say hello to 2021!

Despite the circumstances, we had a lot to be grateful for in 2020 and we were fortunate to be able to support some wonderful causes in our community — we couldn’t have done it without the ongoing support of our clients, advisors and staff!

Feed Nova Scotia donates 2 million kilograms of food each year to food banks, meal programs, and shelters across Nova Scotia.  In addition to a monetary donation during the initial COVID-19 lockdown in March of 2020, our amazing teams donated over 200 kilograms of food to FEED NS in December.

Two of our locations outside of Halifax also got into the Christmas spirit this year! Our team in Fredericton, N.B. held an office food drive throughout the month of December and made their donation to Greener Village, Fredericton’s Food Bank; and, our Stellarton, N.S. office made a monetary donation on behalf of their amazing clients to Pictou County Food Bank in New Glasgow.

Our teams also donated two boxes of Christmas stocking stuffers to Phoenix Youth. Phoenix is a non-profit, community-based organization located in Halifax. Since 1987, Phoenix has been dedicated to supporting youth between the ages of 11 and 24, their families, and communities across multiple locations in Halifax.

Dartmouth General Hospital Foundation (DGHF) positively impacts and supports the delivery of exceptional patient care at the Dartmouth General Hospital through more than $42 million dollars invested in equipment, facilities and programs. Our donation to their Above and Beyond Campaign sponsored 12 months of free Wi-Fi for Dartmouth General’s 4th floor.

Veith House is an inclusive neighbourhood hub where everyone is welcome with the aim to build and strengthen community, reduce poverty and address food insecurity. We were grateful to sponsor their Happy Holidays Program and our wonderful clients donated over $1,000 to this program throughout the month of December.

Souls Harbour Rescue Mission offers emergency help, such as food and clothing, life-changing programs, and a message of hope to men and women facing hunger, homelessness, poverty, abuse and addiction.

The Street Connection is a mobile soup kitchen that operates in four low-income areas of HRM.  Operating on a regular schedule, volunteers on the bus distribute free food and bread to an average of three hundred men, women, and children each week.

The Happy Community Project provides community champions with the tools to build a strong foundation for their community. They are dedicated to enabling people to transform where they live into thriving and dynamic neighborhoods with strong social connections, a sense of belonging, and a genuinely caring culture. We were happy to be able to partner with this project.

Brigadoon Village offers a variety of camps for children living with health conditions and other life challenges. Camp See-Ya (blind & visually impaired), Camp Brainiac (neurosurgery conditions), and Camp Kedooopse (bereavement) are just a few of the camp programs offered – giving extraordinary kids a chance to be ordinary.

We Are Young (WAY) is a registered charity, founded in Halifax, that honours our elders and strives to bring happiness by helping them fulfill their unexplored dreams and wishes, big or small. In addition to a donation, our branch partners participated in a fun-filled day of golf to support this wonderful cause.

Motionball is a not-for-profit organization that builds awareness and raises funds for the Special Olympics Canada Foundation. We were a proud presenting sponsor of the Virtual Marathon of Sport this year which raised $46,000 locally and over $1 million nationally!

Ward 5 is a non-profit organization, located on Russell Street in Halifax, providing community programs for over 30 years. In an average year, the Centre prepares and serves more than 18,000 hot meals to children and seniors.

Beyond the support we have given as a branch to these worthy causes, on an individual basis our advisors and staff support many other fantastic organizations including sports and music sponsorships, theatre, youth programs, and more. We are extremely proud of our team and their efforts to give back.
